Bainbridge Island is a city in Kitsap County, Washington, United States, and is coextensive with the eponymous island in Puget Sound. The population was 23,025 at the 2010 census, making it the largest city in the county. In July 2005, CNN/Money and Money magazine named Bainbridge Island the second-best place to live in the United States. Bainbridge Island is located in Puget Sound, just east of the Kitsap Peninsula and west of Seattle across the Puget Sound. Bainbridge Island is connected to Seattle by the Bainbridge Island Ferry and to the Kitsap Peninsula by the Agate Pass Bridge. The island is very hilly, with numerous creeks and ravines. There are no bridges to the island, which is about 36 square miles in area.
