Rosenberg is located in southeastern Fort Bend County at 29°34′37″N 95°49′53″W (29.577153, -95.831396). It is bordered to the northeast by the city of Richmond, to the southeast by unincorporated East Bernard, to the southwest by unincorporated Pleak, and to the northwest by unincorporated Beasley. Downtown Houston is 35 miles (56 km) to the northeast. According to the United States Census Bureau, Rosenberg has a total area of 28.3 square miles (73.3 km2), of which 28.2 square miles (73.0 km2) are land and 0.1 square mile (0.3 km2), or 0.32%, are covered by water.
