It is bordered to the north, west, and south by Upper Chichester Township and to the east by Nether Providence Township. Pennsylvania Route 452 passes through the borough, leading northeast 4 miles (6 km) to Chester and southwest 4 miles (6 km) to Marcus Hook. Pennsylvania Route 352 crosses PA 452 in the center of Boothwyn, leading north 4 miles (6 km) to Claymont, Delaware, and south the same distance to Linwood. According to the United States Census Bureau, Boothwyn has a total area of 0.85 square miles (2.19 km2), all of it land.
