Mount Arlington is a borough in Morris County, New Jersey, United States. As of the 2010 United States Census, the borough's population was 4,980, reflecting an increase of 245 (+5.1%) from the 4,735 counted in the 2000 Census, which had in turn increased by 532 (+12.7%) from the 4,203 counted in the 1990 Census. Mount Arlington was incorporated as a borough by an act of the New Jersey Legislature on March 5, 1904, from portions of Roxbury Township. The borough was named for General Henry Knox's estate, Montpelier, which was located in the area.
